2015 Bottle Shot

When we create The Whip each vintage, we look to deliver a wine with aromatic appeal that provides a textured and delicious palate, and has the presence and crisp finish to be an excellent food wine. We are fortunate to grow several aromatic white varietals on our estate, such as Viognier and Muscat Canelli, that provide beautiful fruit and floral expressions. We use those varietals and others to accentuate the rich and full palate provided by our estate Chardonnay and Semillon enhanced by the wonderful natural acidity of our Sauvignon Blanc. This helps us deliver a complete wine that tells the story of our estate each and every vintage. Enjoy now through 2020.

"Only 165 barrels are made to produce one of our fave white wine blends—this vintage proves itself exotic, crisp, and floral with notes of pineapple, Asian pear, and orange blossom. Mid-palate savory herbs flow in: basil and tarragon, with toasty oak, nutmeg, and creamy vanilla. The mineral-driven textural mouthfeel is a bright finish." ~ Meridith May

"Fragrant, with peach blossom and honeyed notes of baked apple that are rich and unctuous. The core of citrus and apple flavors is juicy and crisp, finishing with an appealing spicy accent. " ~ MaryAnn Worobiec

"Crisp apple and grapefruit notes dominate the aromas and flavors of this medium-bodied wine, giving it a tangy mouthwatering aspect that suggests pairing with seafood, mild cheeses and the like. More fruit comes out with time in the glass, fading to delicious apricot on the finish." ~ Jim Gordon

    Wine Enthusiast Magazine, November 2017

  • "A vibrant blend (Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are key) from California’s Livermore Valley. Fermented in oak and stainless steel, it has a bright acidity and floral aromas thanks to Viognier and Muscat Canelli." ~ Lettie Teague
