2024 Harvest Update
The 2024 harvest at Murrieta’s Well is in full swing, and we are excited to share that we are officially halfway through! This year’s growing season has been unique, with a cool winter and extended warm summer days that accelerated ripening across our vineyards. We began harvest a little earlier this year. Across Livermore Valley this year’s harvest has resulted in slightly smaller yields, but the quality of the fruit is exceptional.
So far, we’ve harvested all of our white varieties, totaling an impressive 133 tons! The next phase of harvest will begin this week, when we turn our attention to the red grapes, which are ripening beautifully in the Livermore Valley’s signature warm days and cool evenings. Our team is optimistic about the quality of the reds, with flavors already showing great promise.
Winemaker Robbie Meyer shared his excitement for the harvest: “There’s always a lot of action this time of year, which keeps us on our toes. One of the challenges we’re facing is the fast ripening of multiple varieties at once, but that’s part of the fun—it’s a race to make room for all the fruit!”
With the Livermore Valley’s unique growing conditions, the fruit we’re seeing this year is concentrated, full of flavor, and ready to showcase the best of our region. As we approach the second half of harvest, we look forward to bringing in the reds and completing what has already been a remarkable season.
